The contents of Witness to the Early American Experience are drawn from the collections of New York University and the New-York Historical Society.

The Richard Maass Collection of Westchester and New York State is part of the archives and manuscript collections of the Fales Library, New York University. It contains over three hundred documents relating to the early history of New York State, with a particular focus on the American Revolutionary War.
